luxury real estateI am sure most anyone with email access has come across a link for some outstanding and extravagant estates in the recent years. Homes such as Bill Gates' $100 million plus home on Mercer Island and Arron Spelling's Beverly Hills home that recently went on the market for $150 million have become mainstays on the "Most Expensive" lists for anywhere in the world. And while Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint are lacking in $50 million estates like you would find on the shores of Florida or on the streets of Beverly Hills, there are still some pretty amazing homes for sale that most would call extravagant for any part of the world... not to mention North Idaho.

While the real estate decline began in 2007 for some parts of the country, it wasn't until mid to late 2008 that Coeur d'Alene began to experience the effects of what would be known as the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho was essentially undiscovered as a resort and second home destination until around 2002, when many second home buyers flocked to our quaint town thanks to ease of access, the beautiful lake setting and low altitudes that make our town a desirable place to live.
